“Our vice-president this morning spoke of the fact that there is a mixture in the classical, semi-classical now—the Shaw Chorale, the old Percy Crawford change, the Youth-for-Christ nostalgia, it’s gone modern. And it’s on a border that we couldn’t write a book on it. We could not say this note is wrong and that note is right. It’s just too close to the border.”
